Meet Katie

Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider who received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Berry College and her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee with a graduate certificate in Grief, Loss, and Trauma. She is board certified as a National Certified Counselor.

Katie has worked with individual clients for four years at Knoxville Counseling Services and feels honored to continue her work with Wellspring Counseling.

Katie approaches personal growth from a strengths-based and developmental perspective, focusing on evidenced-based solutions for client wellness by fostering a safe space to explore personal insights and cope with change through genuine therapeutic relationships. Katie approaches the whole person in counseling with a passionate commitment to help people shift their mindset, clarify their values, and meet their goals.

Theories and Therapies

Katie takes an integrated approach based in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, incorporating techniques from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to best support individual client’s needs. Katie is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychological First Aid, ASIST, and crisis intervention strategies.

Clinical Issues

Katie works primarily with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, and PTSD and is a trained EMDR therapist. Katie also specializes in helping individuals navigate spiritual concerns through a biblical counseling lens. As a Christian and a counselor, Katie deeply values the dignity and autonomy of all people and honors perspectives from various backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs.

Individual Counseling, Adolescent Counseling $150/session (50 min)

Adolescent Initial Assessment $170 (75 min)

EMDR $150/session (60 min), $200/session (90 min), $300/session (3 hour intensive)
