Living at Peace with Others

Dear Friends,

As the holidays draw near, we reflect on both joyful connections and the challenges of strained relationships. We cannot always manage the circumstances surrounding family events, but we can stay centered on our hope in Christ. True peace doesn’t come from perfect plans or people. Jesus reminds us in John 16:33 “…in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” May His peace strengthen you to love others this season.

Here are a few principles to help you consider how you can be a peacemaker this holiday season.

Release what isn’t yours to carry. The emotions and reactions of others are not your responsibility. You are free to respond with grace, not control.

We are called to love others, even when it’s difficult. Holiday stress doesn’t change this invitation, and doing so leads to peace (Romans 12:18).

Share your desires respectfully, without pressure. This encourages honesty, flexibility, and mutual care.

We hope this gives you some helpful ways to consider your holiday relationships.

Sincerely,

The Willow Springs Team
